The advocacy and agitation of Hon Richard Lweis is now bearing fruits.
Thanks MP.
Great work on your part.
Michael Joseph is looking to steal your glory..
Fear not.
You are the real man.
Changing of the guard is bringing good results, in terms of road construction. There is a lot more to accomplish. The 100 million dollars budget is a drop in the bucket. I will not stop agitating for accountability and proper management of the resources.
The ministry of works continues to hire and rent private heavy duty equipment and not maximizing their use. Several of these equipment are getting paid while parked for hours, days and sometimes weeks.
There is also a system where these equipment are provided with fuel. This relates particularly to the heavy duty trucks. Several of these truckers that are working for ministry of works get free fuel/diesel. Not against none nationals but again several of them are Jamaicans. These guys are allowed to running circles in the system. They go on government jobs collect fuel then leave and go on private jobs. In some instances they even still collect paychecks from both. Just do an audit on the fuel delivery truck or trucks and these privately owned trucks.
The head of hiring these equipment and the accounting department needs to pay attention to these issues. Mr. PS you are experience enough and coming from the ministry of finance should stop financial corruption. In fact if you do an investigation you will find easily to detect and stop the bleeding. They are so comfortable with getting off with it that that it is done recklessly and blatantly.
Madam minister, Mr.Ps you need to step up and allow the Director to concentrate on the road construction and you handle these accounting matters.
We need to maximize the amount we can get for our 100 million.
Please act swiftly.
