This piece of equipment could be better served if it was given to the agriculture extension, with strict orders. That if any farmer wants to use it they will have to pay for fuel, the operator and pay a small fee that will go to the upkeep of the equipment. The government also has to review the growing and selling of marijuana. The Rastafarian communities are growing marijuana mainly to sell for smoking. That is why we have so much young Zumbies walking around the place. I also believe it adds to the increase of Youth violence. Lots of underdeveloped brains are abusing marijuana since its decriminalization , which is more like legislation. Young people are everywhere walking around with their spliffs in their mouths. You go on a construction site and spliffs everywhere. They pass in Vechicles and everyone smoking. You can see the drastic change in the nation and especially the younger ones that are smoking.
I was for the decriminalization, in terms of removing it off the records of young people that were caught with a joint and prevented them from getting into university and getting a good criminal record for what ever purpose. I attended the Town Hall meeting and lend my support. Honestly if I knew it was going to be like this I wouldn’t have supported it. However the wholesale growing of marijuana and license given to the Rastafarian communities is reaping great financial benefits to them at the expense of our nation youth and future generations. Scores of young Llves are being destroyed. The disrespect in our society is alarming and a lot of this can be attributed to the government policy of the growing of marijuana. The police hands are tired. Going back to parliament recently and passing laws don’t change a thing.This gift is counterproductive.
The market is so lucrative that is why the importation and attempts to import and sell on the local market is on the increase. This very week there was a buss close to 1 million at the airport. Importation of higher quality and more potent grades. More crazy young people.
Lots of our young men and women are now employed as farm hands in the growing of cannabis. The growers do not pay them a salary in cash, no statuary contributions. They are paid with marijuana, which they in turn go into the villages and sell to who ever comes.
The Liberta community is badly affected by this, which Cleon Athill bravely addressed in her political campaign. Chet is afraid yo speak out because he thinks he would oppose you PM. Ask him to speak to you honestly about it , without ramifications. You will get a completely different and opposing view. The Seatons , Ganville and Willikies villages are all feeling the negative impact. Willikies was once one of the most peaceful communities- like everyone there are related. Over the past few years they have had some of the most violent crimes. Marijuana is grown and sold right in the mouth of the Willikies police station. They cannot do anything about that/ the horse has bolted.
So I am calling on the government to quickly as possible to take action and address this situation. So instead of gifting them with an excavator, address the selling of weed to our children. They are making more than enough to buy any amount of equipment.
If you need to advance agriculture production- support the struggling vegetable and food producers. The poultry farmers with zero taxes on imports. The feed mill , water to our farmers.
Donald Trump is on the attack to our poor shit hole countries and you our leader. Time to make better agriculture decisions / food security.
We have a weak minister of agriculture, and Cabinet that don’t stand up and say boss no , let’s go this route.
Gaston I still believe that you are brilliant guy. Head and shoulder above every politician in this country. However, you need men around that will say no bass .. lots of your so call colleagues want to see your downfall. Several of them glad about the judge asking for these information. Cabinet colleagues I am talking.
