Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment, and Civil Service Affairs, Mr. Colin Okeiffe, continues his ongoing series of visits to departments and facilities under his portfolio.

As part of these efforts, the Permanent Secretary recently toured the national landfill, where he engaged with staff and stakeholders to assess current operations and conditions on the ground.

The visit forms part of a broader strategy to evaluate infrastructure and explore opportunities for modernising waste management systems across the country.

The Ministry is currently examining how best to improve environmental and operational standards at the landfill through the introduction of updated technology, improved processes, and sustainable practices.

These improvements are aimed at enhancing both environmental protection and the well-being of workers and surrounding communities.

Mr. Okeiffe reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to modernising public health infrastructure, and underscored the importance of collaborative planning in addressing long-standing environmental challenges.

  1. At least okkieffe comes to the realization that something is wrong, under the UPP that dump was well managed, the upp government procured equipment such as sheep foot roller and others equipment, mysteriously upon ALP coming to office those equipment were burnt and destroyed, making way for comrades private contracts, there was Mr dubois and a gentleman specially train in chemistry in university and Japan the ALP got rid of them, stop Antiguan garbage truck from working who they think don’t support them and put in the syrians garbage trucks who already have stores running and can do without, remember a Syrian had a bucket truck working in APUA making $30,000.00 per month, and the APUA chairman say it’s ok obviously because his trucks get work too. The dump was well organized down at cooks landfill under UPP, and now Gaston and the ALP come to power and destroy that an all , and am not saying Gaston hasn’t done any good, because to do that I will subject myself to either be a political fanatic red or blue cool aid drinker.
I don’t think the permanent secretary can turn back time, and with molwyn been in his senility believing he is the celebrated manager, he won’t allow a finger to lift to out do him, and those old guys were needed as sure pillars of stabilizing the ALP in power, but Gaston is recruiting and building some characters to replace them soon, because if Gaston touch those old guys his government collapses.
