Cabinet Notes: The Minister of Lands reported that parceling-out of land assigned to CHAPA (Central Housing and Planning Authority) has already taken place and that those with an interest ought to proceed to inquire.
In Jennings, 126 parcels of land are being surveyed for distribution; 75 parcels at Bolans, on which homes will be built; 12.5 acres at Dunbars Hill; 100+ parcels at Cades Bay; 150 parcels at St. Phillip’s North will also be distributed.
The object, the Minister explained, is to commence construction soonest, since the gradual return of the tourism sector requires that economic activity be spurred in other sectors during the build-up.
Construction of housing is among the alternatives being encouraged in order to strengthen economic growth during this special period.
