PDV Caribe has donated $6,000 to the Care Project to help the government-run facility purchase essential supplies.
The cheque was handed over on Tuesday at the former Paediatric Ward of Holberton Hospital by General Manager Jellette Ralph, and received by Matron Aldine Robins and Operations Manager Sandy Daniel.
The Care Project provides long-term residential support for people with severe physical or mental disabilities, many of whom have been abandoned and rely entirely on state care. Although originally designed for children, residents currently range from 10 to 48 years old.
Ralph said the donation reflects the company’s commitment “to recognise our common humanity and to serve others with dignity,” and encouraged other businesses to contribute.
PDV Caribe Antigua and Barbuda Ltd., which manages the operational arm of the PetroCaribe Energy Agreement, has supported several social programmes, including the People’s Benefit Programme. The company celebrated its 20th anniversary in September.
