Pastor Gavin Otto grapples with mounting legal challenges, facing seven fraud charges as six cases advance to the High Court.
The committal hearing for the seventh case is postponed to November 30.
Otto is accused of fraudulent activities, accepting payments for goods and services he failed to deliver.
In a recent incident from March 2023, he allegedly took over $15,000 for a 40-foot container that never materialized, leading to his arrest.
Other charges involve fraudulent conversion and obtaining money through false pretenses, encompassing various instances where individuals paid for services they never received.
Investigations into bounced cheques totaling over $20,000 in mid-2022 led to a search warrant at Otto’s residence in October, where incriminating evidence was discovered.
Otto attempted to evade arrest during the operation but was apprehended.
Victims include those who paid for undelivered building materials and steel bundles.
The case’s outcome remains uncertain, requiring an additional six weeks to determine if sufficient evidence exists for escalation to a higher court.
