A pastor has pleaded guilty to defrauding individuals and businesses of more than $300,000 through unfulfilled promises and bad cheques.

Gavin Otto entered guilty pleas to all 19 charges on Monday, including six counts of fraudulent conversion and 13 counts of obtaining money by false pretences, committed between February 2021 and October 2022. He is due to be sentenced on 7 November.

The fraudulent conversion charges relate to cases where victims paid for steel and 40-foot shipping containers that were never delivered. In one incident, a man paid over $15,000 for a container he never received. In another, a woman paid $16,000 for two containers but received only one after Otto issued a cheque that bounced.

Other victims were misled into paying for building materials or steel, receiving either partial deliveries or worthless cheques. Otto also cashed multiple cheques at gas stations and businesses that later bounced due to insufficient funds.

Police obtained a search warrant for Otto’s home in October 2022, where he was caught attempting to evade officers. Receipts and cheque stubs were recovered during the search.

The pastor now faces sentencing for defrauding victims and businesses of more than $300,000.

  3. Not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Many will claim to have performed miracles and prophesied in his name on the day of judgement but Jesus will respond, “Depart from me, I never knew you!” People must be careful with some of these men of the cloth. Pure Satan dressed up in pastoral gowns.

  4. I’m sick to my back teeth of hearing and watching the so-called pillars of Antigua & Barbuda embroiled in corruption, nefarious practices and self-enrichment – sick of it!

These people are dragging the country I love into the gutter. Damn guttersnipes!

Here we have a pastor (yet, another one) buried up to he “cleric collar” in greed, and In the not too distant past we’ve witnessed our police acting inappropriately in a number of incidents; also, recently in hospital, a pregnant woman lost her life when giving birth, which sounds like a lack of due care and the appropriate medical attention.

AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON POLITICIANS!

But all I will say is that when they start out in office as young men or women with a salary commensurate with their position, somehow miraculously when they leave, or nearing the end of their political careers the money they’ve accumulated during that time seems to far outweighs their Ministerial time. Go figure folks!

The pillars of our society better get there acts together, because when the fish head rotten the rest of it goes bad, as we are currently witnessing with an increase in criminal activities.

  5. He in church preaching away while in his evil mind he thinking they will never catch me NEVER EVER MUHUHAHAHAAAAA..

  6. … and remember folks to look out for charismatic narcissistic and confident “unqualified” men in suits. They target the vulnerable study the “popular” Holy Scriptures and then start-up their own churches ⛪️

    DISCERNMENT IS THE KEY …

  7. Finally, all the SCAMMERS being exposed. RELIGION is the Head of the BEAST that controlled 99% of the population using CORPORATIONS, especially POLITICS, MEDICAL, SCHOOL, to PRISON to a COFFIN. The Annunaki Statue is the Symbolism of the Revelation that exposes these FAKES, hence all in FEAR now of the Creator’s ReTurn
