While in Antigua last year.I took a drive up to the Town of Parham. It is a well located Town on the water front.Nothing much was going on there when I went.It needs some sprucing up.The main road into the heart of the Town had about 1 million potholes.I did notice many heavy duty oil trucks going through the Town for hours.I do not know how those folks in that area sleep at nights.
You will get, some of the best local stories, fishing stories by simply, sitting among, chatting, laughing, playing Warri and Dominoes with the local fishing crews and other locals.
Yes! Yes! Yes! And, more yes! The place needs some overhaul, upgrade etc, from the Water Catchment, to the Water Front; but it’s not all doom and gloom.
Where are the local Antiguan Investors, philanthropist, etc, to give the Nation some well needed boost?
Are we, still waiting on “other,” then become political with negative rhetoric?
The Views from those hills are stupendous!
@Ras Smood: Parham has a lot of potential in my opinion. It has been neglected for many decades by all of the Administrations.I do have many friends living there. The waterfront area should be a haven for eateries. On weekends they would have all local dishes to include fried fishes and other seafood. There is a town of Oistins in Barbados. They put on a fish fry on Friday nights. You should see the amount of Tourists, patronizing that place. It was packed when I went there.Parham could be our Oistins on Friday Nights and beyond. It has the potential. We need leaders with foresight and vision. To encourage locals to invests their monies into such businesses,in Parham Town.
Parham looks like a sad and forgotten ghost town. The roads are terrible and the officers at that police station must be on punishment.
Welcome PABRO! With the intelligent minds behind this alliance, I see great things to come where Parham’s community is concerned. I love this initiative, getting the youths involved while giving them a chance to express their technological creativeness. Which will not only be rewarding for them but the community on a whole. I am excited to see what they come up with and the winning logo.
