The government is set to introduce amendments to the law on Tuesday, implementing tougher penalties for those who break the law.
The proposed changes to the Firearms Act would increase the minimum sentence to 2-4 years, with a maximum sentence ranging from 20-25 years.

In a statement, the government stressed their intent to send a clear message to individuals involved in criminal activities, underscoring that crime and violence will not be tolerated.
Additionally, a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am will be introduced, granting law enforcement the power to detain any youth found loitering during these hours. Parents of these youths will also face a $2,000 fine.

Call the police if you are at work call your child on video. Call if you call 4-5 times after curfew and they’re not answering, call the police y’all are just being dumb right now.
No parent should PAY any fine to the government for taking away freedoms. The government is RESPONSIBLE for the safety of the country and they’re passing the buck by trying to blame parents for their FAILURES. If every parent refuses to pay they can’t jail everyone. They need to come up with better crime fighting strategies and stop making it seem as if all of Antigua’s children are hardened criminals.
