Paperless ED Card Testing Nears Completion
The government of Antigua and Barbuda is finalizing testing of its new paperless ED card system for travelers. Technology Minister Melford Nicholas says the system has been in live testing for five to six weeks and is close to full implementation, expected by the end of March. The digital entry/departure cards, completed 48 to 24 hours before travel, aim to streamline processing at VC Bird International Airport and reduce contact with immigration officers. A final announcement is expected by week’s end.

  1. There is an AI Department at UWI Five Islands, and we are still struggling with conversion to a digital for a simplistic ED
which I’m of the opinion is outsourced .

  2. While it is true that the Information Commissioner still does not have an office, the question has to be asked, is he just collecting a monthly salary and not doing any work?

Shouldn’t he come out and demand an office so he can do the people’s work? Does he like things as they are and is milking it for all it’s worth?
Just telling people they are not giving him his office does not cut it. It looks too much like he is willing to go on like this forever and not take a stand.
He’s either a coward, or he is just taking advantage of the situation

  3. @Amazed,
You have reazed thoughtful and reasonable questions
I would add: what does it take for civil society to demand these pillers of democracy be functional.
Rather than their absence be killers if democracy.
Our democratic constitutional system assumes a balance of power with the judiciary.
It also assumes a very strong civil society grounded in a free press.
