A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) scheduled for Thursday has been postponed after Chairman and Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle said he was unable to attend due to an unforeseen emergency.
In a press statement from the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, Pringle said a postponement notice had been circulated to members of the committee.
“Due to an unforeseen emergency MP Pringle is unable to chair the committee’s proceedings today,” the statement said.
A new date for the meeting will be announced shortly, the statement added. Pringle also reassured the public that the committee will meet in the near future “to conduct the people’s business.”
The Public Accounts Committee is a parliamentary body tasked with reviewing government spending and examining reports related to public finances.
