More than 7,500 cruise passengers have arrived in Antigua and Barbuda today, bringing a significant boost to the local tourism economy.

The Norwegian Epic and AIDAperla docked at Heritage Quay this morning, delivering a combined total of 7,673 passengers, alongside approximately 2,500 crew members.

The influx filled the capital’s waterfront with visitors heading to duty-free shops, organised tours, taxis and local restaurants, providing what officials described as a tangible benefit to businesses across the island.

Later in the day, the luxury sailing vessel Royal Clipper is scheduled to arrive in Falmouth Harbour, adding a further 227 passengers to what has already been described as a busy day for the cruise sector.

Tourism stakeholders say the arrivals highlight the continued importance of cruise tourism to Antigua and Barbuda’s economy, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises that depend on visitor spending.

Cruise tourism remains a key pillar of the country’s tourism industry, supporting jobs and creating opportunities across transport, retail, food services and excursions.

Industry officials say days like this demonstrate how cruise arrivals can deliver memorable experiences for visitors while generating meaningful economic impact for communities across Antigua and Barbuda.
