Over four hundred vehicles were stopped and searched in a Traffic Department operation on Saturday night.
Police PRO, Inspector Frankie, said that during the activity conducted on American and All Saints Roads near to the Townhouse Mega Store, a total of 4943 vehicles were stopped and searched.
The operation forms part of the police’s aim to drastically reduce crime this year. The traffic department had said earlier this year that part of their 2018 strategy would not only be increased patrols but also boost in this type of activity.
The police say one person was arrested for dangerous driving and four vehicles were also taken to the Government Motor Pool for being unlicensed.
The traffic cops also slapped 41 people with tickets for various traffic offences.
