OCS Students Awarded by Police

Ten fifth-form students of the Ottos Comprehensive School were awarded with certificates by the police.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Atlee Rodney, presented the students with certificates of completion, after successfully completing two weeks of internship with the police as part of their Business Sensitization Program.

The program, which started on December 4th, came to and end on December 15. However, the students were invited to be part of the Commissioner’s Annual Christmas Message which was held on Tuesday 19th December at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Commissioner Rodney took the opportunity to thank the students and all who participated to make the program successful. He also commend the principal and staff of the Ottos Comprehensive School for partnering with the police in such a worthwhile venture, and encourage other schools to take advantage of the opportunity.

The students had the opportunity to work alongside traffic officers in the traffic department, as well as firefighters in the fire department, the Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit, and the telecommunications department.

They were also given a first-hand tour of the main training institution at the Sir Wright F. George Police Academy. The program was coordinated by Inspector Frankie Thomas and Constable Latisha Browne.
