Opposition leader Jamale Pringle expressed frustration over the lack of progress in securing an office space for his duties.

He emphasized that the leader of the opposition’s office is a constitutional position and should be treated with urgency by the government.

“It has been roughly little over a year now that the leader of the opposition has no office to perform his duties,” Pringle stated.

He highlighted that despite making several calls for a remedy, the issue has not received the urgent attention it deserves.

Pringle revealed that he had reached out to various authorities, including the clerk and the Ministry of Works, to address the problem. However, he expressed disappointment that the matter has not been resolved promptly, hindering his ability to function effectively in his role.

Responding to Pringle’s concerns, Works Minister Maria Browne acknowledged that efforts had been made to find a suitable office space for the opposition leader.

She explained that two options had been presented, both located in St John’s and within a quarter-mile of the existing building.

However, Browne noted that Pringle had declined both options.

“I’m not sure his reasonings, but he just declined altogether,” Browne stated.

She reassured the parliament that the matter was receiving attention and that efforts were ongoing to find a suitable location for the opposition leader’s office.

  1. So he comes to parliament with half truth and now he exposed he is silent. That is what happens when we practice to deceive. You will one day be exposed. And the thing is he wants to use the Parliament for discussions of this nature. He doesn’t understand the rules of Parliament up to now. After 10 years the speaker has to tell hem what a personal explanation is.

    • @ Less We Forget

Do you remember the big hoorah Robin Yearwood, Cutie Benjamin and Gaston Brown made about the offices designated to them on Market Street?

They kicked up a stink!!! Why should Pringle accept an office that is undesirable when they were in opposition as detailed about scorned the offices on Market Street UPP gave them?
As to your point about ”disclosure”, u sound so dam stupid…u wanna talk about disclosure and dishonesty? Look at the lie and deception Gaston and Max concocted to cover over their ineptitude in not following the law in regards to informing the opposition leader about the appointment of the Chairman of the Electoral Commission………NOTHING BEATS THAT LIE AND DECEPTION. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE BIGGEST AND BOLDEST LIARS EVER.
AND THEY SHOW NO SHAME ABOUT LYING WITH IMPUNITY!!!!

  2. Less we forget do u know the reason why he declined, why they can’t find something more suitable for MP Pringle, it’s frustrating to find a parking in town, and are u trying to tell me that Mr Pringle don’t have a choice.

    • The fact that he didn’t disclosed this speaks volumes. He could have stated why he didn’t exepted the two offices he was offered. Perhaps his expectations are just way to high. In that case I suggest he pays for an office out of his own pocket. In the past when I was a youngster and my boss didn’t provide me the tools I needed to do my work, I bought my own. Such as a calculator. In my days that was a luxory that employers did not provided for every employee. And not to mention when computors were first introduced. I even bought my own standing fan when I found it unbearable to work in the heat of the office. And later in life when my sons went to St. Joseph’s Academy I offered Brother McGiven to pay for my sons’ own desks and to A/C the classroom. Perhaps Pringle should accepting that there is not much funds available to pay for the office of the leader of the opposition and he needs o look in to the past to see if that was any different. And as Max Hurst said he has an office in the Parliament Building. Perhaps he should used that one.

  3. Less we forget that “less we forget” is stupid for a moment, he reminded us! Thank you very much, we won’t ever forget!

  4. Why would anyone pay attention to someone who is GIVEN a position by her husband, and clearly not fit for this important ministerial job.

AGAIN, NEPOTISM DOESN’T WORK IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR!!!

Nepotism, cronyism, lobbying (especially by the hoteliers), and self-enrichment is destroying the country. Fact!

Antigua & Barbuda needs a clear out of ALL the above. ASAP!!!

  5. Keep pressing the ABLP your magnificent and Honourable Jamale Pringle – you putting the country first.

    A true patriot 🇦🇬🇦🇬🇦🇬

    • @Briks .. now I realize u are gay.. who real man calling another man magnificent… Is like u feeling the dark charcoal up ur rear

  6. Look around the Caribbean. Do you see any other head of state creating an extra ministry for themselves and appointing their wives as ministers to hold it for them?
Setting up government land deals for their girlfriends? Giving government contracts to their children? And the people treating this as normal?
This young woman never worked a day in her life but was thrust straight into controlling one of the most important ministries in the administration.
She spends 9 months maternity leave out of office, yet picked up her salary and perks and fees from the boards she’s on every month. Her husband says she is a wealthy woman. No one knows about any inheritance that she came into.
Antigua now is like a powder keg. This is scary. Persons who are normally so calm and cool are shouting their displeasure with tears in their voice.
Some are in deep despair. Some see no end to the injustices, the national filthiness, the lying tongues of officials, the hopelessly poor education system, the in-your-face thievery of state resources.
This out-and-out ‘if you don’t like it too bad’ attitude from our caretakers is going to blow up, and when it explodes, shrapnel is going to fall on both the red and the blue, the just and the unjust.
Those who have been elected to look after the welfare of Antigua and Barbuda cannot continue to cheat common decency, the welfare of the citizens, the nation’s financial resources, etc. and get away with it without retribution.

  7. As I have stated on several post! They built nothing, created zero wealth except stealing the wealth of the nation. What do you expect, you wonder why you have a nation that underperforms, look at your leaders. What have they lead and or created! Newsflash, nothing, absolutely nothing! Antigua leaders get elected with nothing but during their tensure of service are suddenly wealthy! Look at your PM and his wife? Where is the money coming from, it’s your the are stealing through double dealing and criminal conflict of interest!

  8. Everything is very open with a precise clarification of the issues. It was truly informative. Your site is very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
