Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle Responds to Dr. Mansoor’s Defection

Opposition leader Jamale Pringle has addressed concerns and speculation following the recent defection of Dr. Mansoor from the United Progressive Party (UPP).

In a statement issued over the weekend, Pringle acknowledged the emotions stirred by Mansoor’s departure but emphasized that the defection is not a reflection of the party’s direction or integrity.

Pringle firmly dismissed rumors of the UPP “crumbling” or “imploding,” attributing such claims to political maneuvering. “His defection has little or nothing to do with the direction in which the UPP is going,” he stated, reminding the public that just before the party’s April convention, Dr. Mansoor had spoken out strongly against the Labour Party administration’s corruption, expressing belief in the UPP as the solution to the country’s challenges.

However, Pringle noted that while the UPP’s principles and policies remain consistent, Dr. Mansoor has since shifted his stance. Pringle suggested that Mansoor’s decision was motivated by personal interests rather than genuine political principles. “No one defects from the people-first party to the self-enrichment party on the basis of principle, as we all know,” Pringle declared, accusing Mansoor of using party leadership as a scapegoat to justify his actions.

Despite the defection, Pringle urged UPP members, supporters, and well-wishers to remain focused and resilient. He warned that the Labour Party is employing a “well-funded strategy” to weaken the UPP by targeting its most vulnerable members. In response, he called for unity, encouraging supporters to resist attempts to undermine the party’s strength and integrity.

Pringle concluded his statement by expressing gratitude to those who have reaffirmed their loyalty and commitment to the UPP, pledging to continue the fight for the betterment of Antigua and Barbuda. “Let us keep the faith,” he urged, reinforcing his dedication to the party and its mission.

    • oh yes. 28+ more years in opposition with Gizelle at the helm! Long indeed

  1. it’s best if Mr Pringle and Mrs Isaac step down, there a failing missarobly, and just can’t see the damage there doing, at this point the foundation needs to be rebuilt from scratch, there no shame in saying that you need help and the task is to big for u…no just a pappy show arw you self stupid idiots

    • which candidate are you?

Serpent – 26 acres with 1 pupah tree?
Gunman – shoot the young lady
Richard – marry to a Jamaican woman
shoogy – wingkup for carnival Preacher man

  2. Look who you trouble Did you say Dr. Mansoor is Morally and Financially weak. Why Giselle write this in your speec? Poor you. Just wait.

  3. As long as this man remains leader of the UPP, many UPP voters will stay home next election as they really cannot vote to make this man Prime Minister and at the same time they cannot vote for Gaston Browne. Pringle is incompetent and totally bereft of any appeal. Best the UPP change out Pringle for Shuggy before the next election as Shuggy at least is a people person with personal charisma and he speaks well and draws people to him. Pringle has none of that and Lewis is somewhat now tainted with the whole Jamaica ambassador debacle. Otherwise, the next election will see UPP lose most of the seats they won in the last election. Nuff said.

    • u haffu drunk!!! which shuggy? The party animal, fete addict that cant read and struggle wit grammar???? Where is shuggy wife? She slim down yet to his liking? You think he tek his marriage vows serious enough? fake APOSTLE SHUGY SIMON??? u haffu smoke bad weed or knock you head on the Cant Park at east bus station.

  4. Pringle stop the finger pointing and The blaming and take a look in the mirror because obviously there is something wrong with in the party
Call a meeting ASAP and tackle the problem head on b4 the party crumble.
It’s no shame to ask for guidance and help or may be Lovell should come back he is definitely needed now.
Also you have young talented and Smart people among you give them a chance to excel because what ever you are doing it’s not working
Antigua need the UPP or else it will become a Dictator State
Wake up from your Slumber wash your face clear your eyes and focus!! (Focus)

    • lol @ “dictator state” you conveniently overlooking the fact that the UPP CHAIRMAN IS THE DICTATOR!!!! poor you. you worse than pringle.

  5. Mansoor is no great loss. The ALP is welcome to him. The pruning of the anti-democratic elements is a good thing for the UPP. We had an election, and the people chose Pringle, so everyman-jack need to fall in line.

    • “…the people chose Pringle…”

U SURE BOUT DAT? WAS IT THE POEPLE OR THE DICTATRESS??? POLLS SHOWED RICHIE POO WAS PREFERRED, BUT SOMEHOW WHAT THE DICTATRESS SAYS IS LAW!!! THE MPS SIGNED A LETTER PUBLICLY SUPPORTING THE JAMAICAN HUSBAND AND ALL OF A SUDDEN PRINGLE “EMERGED” AS WINNER???? U REALLY BELIEVE THAT “…the people chose Pringle…”???

  6. Your Very Most Honourable Jamale Pringle, it is so pleasing to hear your reassuring and very upbeat address to the nation.

Like you, I’ve mentioned that the closeness of the last General Election SHOCKED and DISCOMBOBULATED Gaston Browne and the ABLP. They had to come up with a nasty tactic to curtail and counteract the UPP’S unstoppable surge with the public at large.

NONE OF US KNEW WHAT TYPE OF NASTY TACTIC GASTON BROWNE WAS GOING TO USE – BUT WE DO NOW.

UPP supporters like me are pleased to hear that you fully understand what the ABLP are up to Mr Pringle.

Your acute awareness is much welcomed sir!

  7. Whatever one might think about Dr Mansoor and his decision to defect, one cannot overlook and underestimate the continuing work of the ABLP and its surrogates to destabilize the UPP in their effort to secure victory at the next General elections. And so far they have done an excellent job at it. The Prime Minister heads a host of great tacticians and strategists that has literally destabilized the UPP and changed the discourse and narrative over the past couple of months. And it is foolhardy to ever think that it will end here. Others are being wooed with incentives and positions in order to switch sides. We have not heard the end of this as yet.

    • you are part of the problem! Continue to bury your head in the sand and refuse to admit that GISELE ISAAC IS. THE. PROBLEM.

  8. “Despite the defection, Pringle urged UPP members, supporters, and well-wishers to remain focused and resilient. He warned that the Labour Party is employing a “well-funded strategy” to weaken the UPP by targeting its most vulnerable member”
Since Mansoor is an example of a “vulnerable” member, UPP really has no hope. In Mansoor you have a man who has been with the UPP for at least 30 years, held senior positions yet Pringle labels him a “vulnerable member. ABLP eating UPP lunch and leaving them with the crumbs

  9. Morally and financially weak ! Wrong words she make a big mistake with that he is a medical doctor and I think he knows the ethics of that and has helped the sick in his daily practice that gives him an A with his finances the Mansoor family can stand uo to most in this Country with their worth so again wrong words and you must take it back they have given donations and helped many families even government institutions so you guys are hurting so the insults are so upp he certainly will give his two pieces so buckle uo !

  10. Eberybody seems to be clising their eyes so as not to.see the real problem and then want to cast the blame elsewhere. Something is seriously wrong here.

    • @JCFJW

yep! The emperor (empress) has no clothes but everybody keep smiling to she face and saying how nice the pants suit fit she…..meanwhile the EXODUS continues……

  11. I note that the ABLP supporters are coming out again in their droves regarding the so-called tumult of the UPP.

Never mind that the ABLP and Gaston Browne are distancing themselves from the dire economic, infrastructural and our ever porous borders.

    ABSOLUTE JOKERS AND DEFLECTORS!

  12. At some point in time, the UPP leadership has to start to self-evaluate their organization. With each defection, the leadership cannot continue to label individuals as “self-serving”. Which one of you in the leadership is not “self-serving”? If you weren’t the constant cries to demit office would have been answered in the collective interest.

Personally, I think the only salvage for the party is to change it’s leadership and MP Richard Lewis would be prime to take on this task if not for the faux pas situation regarding the Jamaican Ambassador role and the very likely reality that he could lose his seat in the next election.

I don’t think anyone wants to see our country with a weak opposition for the sake of our democracy.

All-in-all, people are watching and the impression being felt is that if UPP own members do not have confidence in their party to be in opposition then why should the citizens and residents have confidence to give them the country.

Let’s fix the UPP for the betterment of our nation.

  13. Lmao 🤣 😂 😆 🤣 😂 😆 you right Pringle. You get u script from Man Cow 🐄 🤣 😂 ssay what she programmed you to say. 😆 🤣 😂 mercyyyyy mi belly
Watta “leader” of the opposition you are.

  14. Dear Grandfather, given the rate of defection of so-called party faithful, longevity of your Clan seems a mere pipe dream! Jamal’s speech re the most recent walkout sounds like one given by my dear friend, the Hon. Joanne Massiah trying to convince herself any who cared to listen that the barn was not burning. It was just heat due to global warming.
Your Clan has lost all credibility and relevance.

  15. wait! so…um….er….nobody tarl going to admit that Gisele is the problem???? ok……carry on….watch the MASS EXODUS!

  16. Jamale Pringle, We all know that you did not this CRAP. Why You and THE MAN COW don’t leave UPP and let it breathe. You Guys are destructive. The following are the Persons left with UPP.

JAMALE PRINGLE ( Don’t know His Ass from elbow)

SHERFIELD BOWEN. (WAS CONVICTED and was JAILED)

SERPENT( ALGERNON WATTS ) DUCEY BAT according to Lamin Newton)

SHUGY. ( WINKUP MAN OF THE CLOTH )

RICHARD LEWIS ( Got cold feet, because talks for the HIGH COMMISSIONER TO JAMAICA)

    Sean Bird will defect shortly.

These are the Persons UPP expect Antiguans to vote for….Must be DAMN crazy.

    ABLP forever.

  17. @Have Mercy, we had a free and fair election, so yes, the people chose Pringle like they chose Sir Baldwin and Harold. And anyone who would defect to the ALP and their foreign criminal gangs has exposed their true colours and duplicity in ALP corruption.

  18. @Hypocrisy! well said 👏 Shuggy has no business pointing fingers at Gaston cah nobody tawl love more young gurl like he and always at a certain hotel every weeked with different one.

on another note sometimes i just wonder if Gisele a Pringle woman smh

  19. What made the UPP convention election fair. Just like the ABLP they say Pringle get money from a certain ABLP businessman to buy votes. The hypocrites in the UPP must stop criticizing the ABLP practice of buying votes.

  20. You see the upp is just a “party” whereas the Labour Party is an INSITUTION!!! note the difference. coming together to be spiteful, vindictive, jealous and badminded to ABLP was not a good foundation for upp to stand on. The people of Antigua and Baburda and the world at large get to see what the upp is made of – rotten to the core, with maggots seeping out and a fecal stench. Run for the hill before the lipstick-wearing hog tramples you to death.
