Jamale Pringle, Opposition Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in Antigua and Barbuda, has filed a formal complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department after a contracted performance by artist Armani Givenchy Moodie was cancelled on Labour Day 2025.
Pringle engaged Stardon Records to secure the performance, agreeing to a $10,000 USD fee with half paid upfront. On the day of the event, the artist and team failed to appear, and no refund was issued.
Pringle told police he had not received an apology or his deposit back and suspects the team will return for carnival season. He is seeking police assistance to recover his funds.
The case raises concerns about the enforcement of contracts and accountability within the entertainment industry.

Don’t people lodge complaints to CID on civil matters. So how did the police arrested the young lady from Belmont for box hand. They also arrested people for taking people money to import use cars for them and keep the money.
Recently a friend of mine wrote a check and mistakenly had the wrong date – which caused the check to be stale dated. He was horrified to receive a call from the police about the check. Threatening to arrest him.

The police cannot settle civil matters.
Civil matters are dealt with by the courts.
Police can only advise own legal proceedings in such matter.
