Jamale Pringle Welcomes Pearl Quinn-Williams as New UPP Senator
Opposition Leader and United Progressive Party (UPP) Leader Jamale Pringle has expressed confidence in newly appointed Senator Pearl Quinn-Williams, commending her commitment to service and advocacy as she assumes her role in the Upper House.
Speaking after Senator Quinn-Williams took the affirmation of office, Pringle praised her for stepping up to serve at one of the highest levels of governance. “It’s a wonderful feeling knowing there are still women out there willing to take on this role,” he said. “Her courage and commitment ensure the voice of women continues to prevail in Antigua and Barbuda’s democracy.”
Pringle revealed that discussions with Quinn-Williams about serving at the highest level had been ongoing for some time, and the opportunity to appoint her aligned with her readiness and dedication to the UPP’s principles. “With limited appointments, we must be strategic,” he explained. “Senator Quinn-Williams is committed, fearless, and determined to carry forward the mandate of the UPP in Parliament.”
When asked what distinguishes Quinn-Williams from her predecessor, Senator Shawn Nicholas, Pringle highlighted her financial expertise and unique perspective. “She brings a fresh approach, particularly her financial background, which will be critical in reviewing budgets and economic strategies. Her youthfulness, preparation, and teamwork will reignite the energy in the Senate.”
Addressing remarks by Governor General’s Deputy Sir Clare Roberts advocating for an elected Senate, Pringle described the idea as a potential area for constitutional reform. “An elected Senate could provide a stronger second tier of scrutiny for the legislative process,” he noted. “While we’re not there yet, it’s something to consider as we advance democratic reform.”
Pringle also responded to concerns about the UPP’s stability amidst recent resignations, emphasizing that the party remains strong. “The United Progressive Party is alive, well, and stable,” he affirmed. “People may leave, but others join, and the principles and foundation of our organization remain intact. Our support base is solid, and we are focused on emerging as the next government when elections are called.”
With Senator Pearl Quinn-Williams now representing the UPP in the Senate, Pringle expressed high expectations for her contributions. “I anticipate great things from her. She has been a strong advocate for good governance and will undoubtedly bring that same passion to her role in the Upper House.”

Pringle highlighted Pearl Quinn-Williams’ “youthfulness” as one of her distinguishing traits. LMAO. The UPP and its leader really have a warped sense of youth. Imagine Pringle ah refer to wan whole yard fowl as a youth. Well sah, you cyarnt mek up this yah! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Confidence???? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 well the snake 🐍 smiling next to you has NO CONFIDENCE in you Pringle!! He signed his name to the letter supporting Richard Lewis. If only you had half a brain and your eyes were open, you’d see the Long knife he holding behind your back.
What ah line up. The photo alone tells me that the UPP is fit to govern this great country of ours come 2028 – if not before.
As a Antiguan patriots we need a strong opposition party. The ABLP and Gaston Browne are, pushing hard for a one-party state, so that their leader becomes Dictator-in-chief.
Hence the constant negativity from the them and their supporters – whether good or bad – to destabilise the UPP. Never!!!
🟨🟦🟨🟦 UPP Stronger … ah you acolytes know the rest ✊🏾
A strong opposition will keep democracy in Antigua & Barbuda. Fact!
