OPINION: The Nation Disapproves Christian United Protests

5

There is growing anger across the nation over Christians United protesting against the Daniel 2 statue at Glorious Hope Ministries on All Saints Road.

Many citizens are upset that such protests are causing so much division among the Christian community, and they are questioning why church groups are fighting against one another over a scripture-based statue.

The Daniel 2 statue represents the dream of Daniel and the promise of Christ’s second coming. It is not an object of worship, but a reminder of faith and theological significance.

Yet, instead of celebrating this scriptural symbol, Christians United have chosen to protest it, leaving many to wonder if they truly understand the Bible.

Elderly persons in the nation are expressing shame and disbelief that a group calling itself Christian would challenge another church over a statue rooted in scripture.

This division looks very bad for the nation.

Church groups confronting each other over religious symbols sends a message of conflict rather than faith, and citizens are urging Christians United to reflect on the greater good.

Religious liberty allows people to express their faith freely and venerate symbols that inspire spiritual reflection.

The Daniel 2 statue, like other statues of heroes and sacred figures in Antigua and Barbuda, enriches the nation culturally, spiritually, and even economically.

The nation calls for peace, understanding, and unity.

It is shameful that church against church conflict is overshadowing faith. Instead of creating division, Christians United should focus on promoting harmony, respecting the beliefs of others, and allowing theological symbols to inspire, educate, and bring the community together.

  1. The shit is, Christian and churches in this day and age now feel like they always have to be in the limelight, so instead of just tearing down this statue their Christian faith encourage them to do as others do, so in their theological mind if a VC Bird or a Viv Richard statue stands, so too can this Statue.
They change the true version of the Bible so many times that each and every religious faith of today are now confused and rebelling against one another.
The God I know said he is a jealous God and warned me of building any Idols or bowing down to them, so why would any church choose to erect this particular statue, a statue full of riches?
You look at the many Mega churches and the wealth gained by many of these so-called apostles and there is your answer.

  2. I’m not a member of the church, but my opinion is that if the ppl want to build their statue to make a statement, that is their business. If they wish to worship around it, that is their business.

At the end of the day, so long as they’re not doing something to hurt society, that is their business

They have their statue of their own property, that is their business.

Some of these same dyam ppl that protesting are some of the day sinners on the island.

When all them ppl moving about and promoting homosexuality on the island, where were these holy ppl?

Stop rely on scripture selectively. Leave the ppl alone, so long as there’s no negative impact on the society

  3. The hypocrisy in this country is amazing! We erect statues of politicians, sport legends, slaves and educators that promote physical and mental aspirations which are not spiritual! The Bible says if only in this world we have hope, we will be of men most miserable! So what’s the point of defending something that brings temporary and seasonal hope for the body and for this world and forget about one’s eternity after all this has transpired in one tragedy and don’t have Christ in your life?
We so called Christians will just tear down another for what someone else’s says or do without first seeking God’s counsel on the matter! The statue in question doesn’t praise anyone and should not offend anyone if the purpose of the statue is to point people to God and to see His future of Hope in the midst of all the chaos happening around the world! Christ is coming back soon and we all need to be ready for His return! If politics, sports, education and money are our only motivation as a so called Christian society, God help us all. Selah
