It is almost counterintuitive that many Caribbean countries have legalized the possession and use of marijuana or sex of any kind among consenting adults but nearly all have not formally legalized prostitution, the oldest profession.
Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Vincent, also Trinidad and Tobago, have all banned same-sex acts and conversely legalized cannabis, with the exception of Grenada which is moving in that direction.
It is as if to say, same-sex approval is too far, amid clouds of ganja smoke for these select few, one of whom has approved targeted assassinations.
The other Caribbean countries approved same-sex coupling from as long ago as a few centuries like Haiti and later for the other European colonies. The British Overseas Territories were directed by their English overlord in 2001 to allow homosexuality.
These self-same forced liberalizations have not gone as far as legalizing weed because their British feudal leaders have not legalized ganja themselves.
A part of the colonial deal is that they become the moral authority even if it makes a nonsense of an entire country’s beliefs, cultural history, or otherwise.
All for one and one for all, not.
The bizarre and conflicting decisions on same-sex among adults and smoking ganja have missed one other prohibited adult behavior, prostitution.
Almost entirely criminalized in the Caribbean except the Dutch Caribbean, but rarely enforced, prostitution is widely practiced in many levels of our societies and in many ways.
From the overt or street purveyors of sex to arranged unions based on financial transactions, some lasting years. All strictly prohibited and well known within all Caribbean societies.
Prostitution is a kind of sex among consenting adults that is legal in the United Kingdom with some restrictions on public places and pimping.
Having forced legal homosexuality on many unwilling British Overseas Territories it would be a small step to allow prostitution in these colonies to legitimize many working girls and guys to pursue their vocations in all levels of society, but not on the street or with pimps.
Behind closed doors or closets and all that.
It would be a forward-thinking step that might find motherland approval starting with those that have legalized same-sex unions by force. Then others could follow or mirror their liberal views on marijuana and maritime sicarios.
Do as I say not as I do.

Well said..Tired pay fuh narny and feel like I am doing something wrong.
Not a bad idea at all. Prostitution is legalized in Curacao. There is a certain gated area well fenced, proper housing, and all Prostitution take place on that compound alone. There are rules and regulations that all prostitutes must abide with.
If they want to push and force LGBT down people throat by force, why not legalized prosecution. Legalizing prostitution is far better than Legalizing Marihuana. Prostitution and LGBT are all abomination in the site of God but if they crazy enough to Legalized LGBT and decrimilized Marihuana, I think they should Legalized prostitution between two consenting adults and stop choosing who to sex who
Plenty women in Antigua working selling front cuase they love “things” and their eyes long. They have jobs but squander their money to keep up with the now a days trends and love to compete to give impression. They love seek out money man too and dont know about true love!!
This is a strategy to legalize alot of wickedness in a country. When we legalized one thing later we will find reason to legalize the other. We aim to please everyone but we cannot do so. Cannabis legalized and look what it is doing to our pple. When we tolerate foolishness then the country will crumble. The more we tolerate is the more we going to suffer. We had some God fearing men who put laws in place because it is scriptural and we know that when Jesus Christ say to not do such thing it is for a good reason but the men today do not fear God. This is why so much killing in Nigeria and in different countries because there no fear in God. When u accept this kind of foolishness u will find the increase of crime, STDS, Divorce, abortion, unemployment etc. Study the Jewish law and you understand why these laws were against these wickedness. We need laws, more laws without laws there is no order and without order there is chaos.
WICKEDNESS. The Most High can never be pleased with this. “RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTETH A NATION…SIN IS A REPROACH…”
Yes let’s judge morality by a stone age religion that was used to justify enslavement of your forefathers. Like the use of cannabis and the existence of homosexuality, prostitution has been around forever. Legalize it, make sure regular mandatory heath checks are performed and tax it like any other industry.
Prostitution is already legal in Antigua. It’s the RED 🐘ELEPHANT in the Culture on every street corner.
It’s time to start collecting taxes, revenue to cover the damages caused to the increase in crimes to the added stresses and strains on the HEALTHCARE SYSTEM- both mental & physical.
Prostitution have being legal since, the HALF DAY THURSDAY PUBLIC HOLLIDAY, when alcohol laced slave owners would have women and men parade naked in front of them on raises platforms, to advertise the strength and prowess of their dicks and pussies to the most valuable organs of the slaves physical appearance.
Less We Forget, Barbuda was prostitution colony which fucked at will to produce the best breed of slaves.

Eze 9:4-10 KJV 4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. 5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: 6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. 7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city. 8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem? 9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not. 10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
Legalizing prostitution increases human trafficking, and makes it harder to monitor. It increases the number of women who are victimized.
Handsome and confident men/women don’t need prostitutes, however, having said that. There maybe a case for people with severe disabilities that need some sort of intimacy.
Just saying…
As always, Brixtonian bringing another point of view to the ANR table.
