After World War II, the U.S. with the permission of the UK occupied lands in and around the North Eastern region of Antigua, as their headquarters of protection of their shores facing the Caribbean Sea.
Jamaica, St.Lucia, Grenada and Trinidad had established support bases, but Antigua was the stronghold of the Air, Sea and ground, a central military base for the Caribbean. Thus the Caribbean Basin became the U.S. post-war Defence against possible reprisals.
Today clearly the eye of the giant neighbor is oncemore on the islands ,as our region is being pulled into the warmongering which established the character of U.S. control. With not so tacit acceptance of the U.S. move into our area, the two oil countries of Trinidad and Guyana, whose leaders and a large segment of their population are East Indian by race, seem to have capitulated.
The proposed visit by top U.S. Military brass to position Radar in Grenada, and to talk of their plans for Antigua, has us all wondering if the proposal for Antigua is a base for their war planes.

Having been subjected to all the negatives of a foreign military base on Antigua for 50+ years, during which period Antigua & Barbuda achieved independence (political only), we can only await the outcome with prayers, and appeal to God to save us from American warmongering, and the cruel hardships which accompany war, and its interference in the poor man’s life. Americans only love America (and maybe Israel), and since becoming a world dictator, has little respect for countries like ours, which are referred to by their President as Shxxhole countries.
Let all Antiguans pray that our Prime Minister and his Cabinet resist with all their righteous might, allowing our country to become embroiled in this travesty of control exhibited by the ugliness of American world politics. The Caribbean is a zone of Peace & Love! Let us live and share our peaceful islands and sea!

Beggars can’t be choosers. The politicians will spin whatever shit America dishes out into gold and serve it up to the hangry people.
And don’t forget your tourism market is heavily dependent on Americans. Now speaking of Tourism, the Navy base was the impetus for Antigua’s development of Tourism.
If a one time me hope Gaston posit himself as dirty mouth and being a real world boss and say no way a now, me will wall with he to reject this infantilization and emasculation of our black nation, just call upon me to say no! And Gaston can give me a front seat and the stadium during independence to shout reparations against genocide to that royal family freak visiting here to assert their neocolinial domination.
One man can’t make the decision for a whole country, he must put it to the public…….We don’t want no war in the Caribbean,we’re peaceful people.
While some of the things you say are true, so much is absolute garbage that is not factual at all. Specifically the history you give about the United States bases here in Antigua is absolute rubbish. You need to know more about our history and how the United States came to be here with their first US Army base before they joined in world War II and how it became US Navy and US Air force after the fact. The US Navy base never had a single ship based here. The US Air force Base never had a single plane based here. It’s hard to take you seriously when so much of what you’re saying is not true.
Antigua and Grenada are the most volunerable. The weakest and least to oppose in US offer.
Listen to the last UN speeches, nothing was said about the Caribbean Peace Accord by Antigua and Grenada.
The Chinese Ambassador to the UN recently spoke about the Caribbean Peace Accord. That speech was properly timed ahead of the the US military visit. To let Antigua and Grenada know the Chinese position.
