All public and private schools along with other educational institutions in Antigua and Barbuda were tentatively scheduled to return to in-person instruction on February 22, 2021 but must now remain in the remote learning/teaching modality for at least a further two weeks.
The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda, after re-evaluating the extant epidemiological conditions of the state, has decided that all educational institutions must continue with remote learning from Monday, 22nd February to Friday, 5th March, 2021.
A further review of the situation will be undertaken towards the end of that period.
Teachers will therefore continue to facilitate learning remotely. Parents and guardians are encouraged to see to it that their children/wards spend each school day engaged in learning activities.
The Ministry of Education, Sports & Creative Industriesreiterates to parents and guardians that structures must be put in place that ensure their children/wards are kept off the streets at all times.
The Ministry will remain supportive of schools as they continue to scaffold student-learning. Everyone is encouraged to continue to observe the protective measures sanctioned by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.
