One-Year-Old Dies After Falling into Cistern

A tragic incident in New Winthorpes has claimed the life of a one-year-old child who reportedly fell into a cistern at her home on Wednesday.

The mother, who was at home during the incident, discovered the child in shallow water after a frantic search.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the child was pronounced dead.

The grieving community awaits further updates as police interview the mother and continue their investigation.

  4. We dont know the circumstances in which it happened ..Things happen as soon as we turn our backs.
    Condolences to the mom and family. Lord to bury that age group after done past the worse of carrying for 9 months etc.
    Its really heart breaking really sad .indeed.

  5. If you ever had a child , you may cross yourself and say , there but for the grace of God go I. The cistern should have been securely covered . That mother has been punished enough , show compassion and not harsh judgements.
