The annual One Nation Concert at Antigua Recreation Ground drew thousands on Saturday, organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.

Despite criticism from the United Progressive Party, Prime Minister Gaston Browne defended the event, highlighting private investor contributions and economic benefits outweighing opposition expenditures.

The free concert featured international artists like Taurus Riley and aimed to support local talent growth.

Browne proposed mentorship opportunities between established and emerging artists for economic and social development.

  1. Give us an opportunity to dance and prance to temporarily forget our woes trials and tribulations, then we are there faster than a bullet from a gun.

To be fair Gaston Browne, I give him his dues.

He well and know that short term projects/ideas has always appealed to many Antiguans (you only have to look at the excitement around Christmas time for the hams, turkeys and chicken).

He knows that a full belly of food, drink then followed by a merry dance has always worked in his favour. Kudos to the PM.

Our Prime Minister understands our cultural achilles heel, and will continue to use it for his political advantage.

Gassssston knows Antiguans better than they know themselves. Simple!

    NO WONDER HE’S DONE 3 TERMS…

    • @ BRIXTONIAN

Hon. Gaston Browne will have another term in 2028. This will make 4 consecutive terms. You Guys will be barking like dogs in Opposition.

  2. Spoken like the narcissistic clown he is! Will this fool ever admit to his misguided ideas?
Clinics are shuttered with no signs of reopening any time soon; millions are owed to contractors; garbage collection is an ongoing problem and the list is long, yet this man cannot see the errors of his ways.
He must be removed from office. The prostitutes on the Rumshop were cursing because their god was rejected from the list of leading PM’s in the region but the world laughs Gaston Browne. They know the disaster we call PM. While they are helping their people, gave them stimulus and bonuses yearly, this financial dunce is adding all kinds of new taxes, lending the lie to all his empty promises.
    We can expect nothing else.

    • BRIXTONIAN and WATCHING

You Guys sound very boring. I believe your household is like a funeral home. Antiguans and Barbudans look forward to this EXCITEMENT.

Both of you Guys supported Pearl Quinn Williams with her nonsense in defamming Hon.Gaston Browne, now She faces Court challenges with at least $90,000 in legal costs even if She apologize. BRIXTONIAN and Watching are awful persons. Don’t expect anything better from Guys. Always on the wrong side.

You guys need excitement in your lives.

      • Cry me a river @ GILES.

Because other people have a different viewpoint than yours, they are awful?

        ARE YOU STILL AT SCHOOL?

GILES, you are entitled to your opinion, but I respond to you on the issue/matter at hand. You must know by now that Brixtonian enjoys the political jousting?

Look boss, I hope you don’t disappear like @ From The Sideline – I actually miss his prattle!

However, I am more than happy for you to replace him, but …

        PLEASE DON’T DISAPPEAR 😁

      • @ GILES, who have now corrected his name 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

        aka Gaston Brown.

Just like you promised that Shuggy would not have won the by-election because you had control over the judges, let us see you have control over the judgement, because as a lawyer I cannot see any merit in your defamation case.

  3. The One Nation concert was a win win situation that benefits both the Govt & the masses.

The masses had opportunity to let loose their hair and have the opportunity to see at the same time, for free, great international artists performing who at a normal show would have to pay perhaps $300.00 or more.

At the same time the govt benefited from the under hidden taxes etc….

However, it is my opinion that in the future shows of a similar nature, adults should pay $10.00 & school children $5.00 as an entrance fee to assist the govt to offset some of their expenses towards the show.

Let’s bear in mind it is not all about what our country can do for us but it is what we can do for our country. Solidarity is always the key for progress!!

  4. My child’s mother retail clothing, wigs, shoes and accessories, this Event One Nation was a blessing in January. The opposition could never understand this. Looking forward for a bigger better concert Next Year.

    • With respect @ Jay,

Of course this government is going to throw down crumbs from their vast financial table once or twice a year; and actually, you’ve highlighted the financial divide perfectly when you say:

“Looking forward for a bigger better concert Next Year.”

      NEXT YEAR!!! WHY???

Jay, why should you rely on the Prime Minister’s annual financial crumbs?

Wouldn’t it be better for you to earn the money you make on a daily or weekly basis (like the most of us), rather than ONCE a year?

This isn’t a criticism of you per se Jay, but more of how this ABLP government gets into the mindset of hardworking Antiguans like yourself that think their YEARLY scraps are going to benefit you in the long term – it does not!

      COME ON JAY … WAKE-UP!!!

  5. Where did the money come from to buy the shoes, nails, wigs etc.? Did the “Investor” distribute a stimulus to the attendees? If persons spent the money they would have saved for the year ahead to attend the supposedly FREE concert then the only economic benefit is for the artists and you who sold A few items earlier than expected at the patrons’expenses. Hope you know you paid 17% abst on the wigs etc.
Many shall perish for the lack of knowledge…….wow!

  6. Your Porkston Browne thanks you again for voting her in and she hopes you vote her in for another five years. She gave you a “free” concert thanks to the tax payers generous contributions. She will give you even more “free” and better concerts since she now has more funds at her disposal all thanks to the increased tax she just passed. Don’t worry about the huge pot holes in our roads or our water issues, those are not as important as the free concerts we are getting. With more tax hikes down the road, those will all be taken care of.

Porkston Browne knows we need to make Friars Hill Road look better and that’s why $400k was well spent to add royal palm trees along the road. To mitigate the issue of the royal palms causing any issues with the high tension electrical wires above them, she is spending Antigua’s tax dollars wisely to now bury the wires below ground. To help keep the economy stimulated, she is now paying the company to relocate the wires which is the reason she didn’t have the company do so in the 1st place. The Minister of Finance knows exactly what she’s doing and what’s best for our country.

Porkston Browne has now taken important agricultural lands at Dunbars and made it for housing. She knows what the people need and has their best interest at heart. Even a bank and a well known Middle Easterner are already in the process of owning some of those same lands if they don’t already own them. Another example of her looking into the future of our country. Don’t worry about the current building that houses the Ministry of Agriculture, that will be addressed in the very near future along with the St. John’s Police Station. She knows we no longer have to depend on local agriculture because her good solid Chinese friends will take are of her and our nation.

Porkston Browne continues to thank everyone who voted her in so she can continue to practice her creative self-enrichment scheme. When the going gets tough, she also gets going. A great example of that is her padding her constituency to make sure she won. She is so proud of that accomplishment she even publicly stated it. We need to follow her example to go and get what we want.

Porkston Browne thanks to all who voted for her and the confidence they had in her to better herself. She is from an area that’s known to be struggling and has now amassed quite the fortune. Now she can live very comfortably when she is done with politics. She has proven that anyone with the fortitude and drive can rise above where they are from and become someone big. Whatever it takes and by any means we all can do the same as she did.

To show her gratitude, she hands out well needed gifts when Christmas rolls around every year. As long as you keep voting her in, she will continue showering you with these gifts.

Your Porkson Browne thanks each and every one of you. Here’s to another five years of Porkston Browne. Your vote counts. Make it count well.
