Prime Minister Gaston Browne offered warm congratulations to Osbert Frederick, the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, following his unopposed election. In his remarks, Prime Minister Browne highlighted Frederick’s integrity, experience, and the unanimous confidence placed in him by both sides of the House.

“The fact that you have been elected unopposed confirms the confidence we all have in you,” said Prime Minister Browne. “You are a man of integrity, bringing significant experience as a former Deputy Speaker in the Senate and a wealth of knowledge from both the public and private sectors.”

The Prime Minister noted the high standard set by outgoing Speaker Sir Gerald, whose contributions he described as “sterling.” Browne encouraged Frederick to build on Sir Gerald’s legacy while addressing areas for improvement, including enhancing the autonomy of the Parliament and upgrading its physical infrastructure.
