POINTE XPRESS- A specialized team from the Organization of American States (OAS), led by Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador, Sir Ron Sanders, is in the country to prepare for the OAS General Assembly, scheduled for June next year.

Over three days, the team will meet with government officials and inspect venues, including the new conference hall at the American University of Antigua.

The Advanced Team includes experts in conference management and protocol. With permanent observers from Europe, Africa, and Asia expected, attendance could range from 1,200 to 1,600 people.

Sir Ron noted that hosting the conference in June, typically a slow month for tourism, would provide economic benefits for local hotels and transportation, and attendees might extend their stays, further boosting the economy.
