Nurses Awarded For Their Excellent Work

Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) kicks off Nurses Week celebrations with its annual Nursing Excellence Awards Ceremony, honoring nurses across the hospital.

Jacqueline Jno-Baptiste, RN, Director of Nursing at MSJMC congratulated all the nominees. Said Jno-Baptiste, “This week, in particular, we celebrate our nurses who are at the heart of our mission to care for every patient without exception. And while they work in various specialties, in a wide range of settings, they share a common characteristic: a deep commitment to caring for the people who seek our care. We are proud to have such a dedicated group of outstanding nurses and caregivers making a difference in the lives of our patients.”

A total of twenty-nine (29) nurses throughout the hospital were nominated by their colleagues in honor of their valued achievements and commitment to providing the best possible care and experience for patients. The nurses honored today are among the over three hundred (300) nursing personnel at MSJMC – women and men who provide care around the clock each day.

“Our nurses are truly a part of our success. They are at the frontlines of health, delivering the patient-centered, collaborative care that will help us succeed in the future. We cannot thank them enough for the work that they do in providing the best possible care and experience for every patient, every time,” said Salma Crump Head of Marketing & Communications at MSJMC.

Continued Crump; “We’re also grateful for partners like FastCash who has been sponsoring this annual event for the past 2 years. A clear indication to us of the importance they place on nursing in the in Antigua & Barbuda.”

  1. Salma Crump actually pretending to do some work at the hospital?? Interesting that she only makes statements with regards to easy, happy-go-lucky situations. When it comes to tough situations, her reflex response is typically “I was not aware”

If she can’t tek the pressure of public relations, she needs to let someone else with backbone handle this job.

What’s the criteria for these awards? Is it merely a popularity contest? I wonder if they take into account patient feedback or they are being wise in their own eyes thinking they are doing such a superb job.
