
Transport Minister Daryl Vaz is reporting that the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston and the Ian Fleming International Airport in St Mary will open Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for relief flights, as the country undertakes recovery efforts following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
Vaz, who toured the airports this morning, says commercial flights at Norman Manley and Ian Fleming will resume Thurdsay October 30, at 7:00 a.m.
Regarding the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, Vaz says it will open at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow for relief flights.
He says assessments are ongoing, and a decision is to be made no later than this afternoon on the resumption of commercial flights.
The aim is to have passenger flights by Friday, Vaz indicated.
