Prime Minister Gaston Browne has shared the reason for the weekend closure of the island’s vaccination clinics.
According to the Prime Minister, the nurses downed tools because they were not paid their overtime allowance.
Browne said the cheque was released by the Treasury but the bureaucracy held up the process and the funds did not get to the nurses.

So getting people vaccinated is the top priority ehh?
This poor planning, last minute b s and lack of pay shows the public clearly how the PM & Govt. VALUE our nurses.
CHUPSE
Chupse is correct
The same nurse who supposed to be taking care of the diabetics in the clinic are having to give vaccines at multipurpose center
So is the nurse to split herself in two?
If persons cant get care for their diabetes, the vaccine will only help for as long as the covid infection takes to throw off the sugar levels
Mentally ill people killing us was not a priority before covid and still isnt. Malnutrition was not a priority before covid and still isnt. Rotten teeth was not a priority before covid and still isnt.
Since when one cheque is used to pay several ppl? Could it be that they are not working this weekend because the vaccines will run out?
So the cheque should be ready first thing on Monday morning?
