NHC – Tropical Storm Philippe showed signs of strengthening, prompting the National Hurricane Center to issue Advisory Number 17.

As of 11:00 AM AST on September 27, 2023, Philippe’s location was approximately 620 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands.

Its maximum sustained winds had reached 50 mph, with a westward to west-northwestward movement at 9 mph.

While no coastal watches or warnings were in effect, interests in the Northern Leeward Islands, the U.S and British Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico were advised to closely monitor the storm’s progress.

Rainfall projections indicated 2 to 4 inches across the mentioned areas, potentially leading to flooding impacts.
