This is not the topic you to blasted fast.
Forgive me, but what a nine year old want with a phone capable of displaying videos from the internet dark web?
Pornography, games that celebrate gun crimes, stolen car, leaking of local lewd video. And on and on, is it safe for that child?
what is a 9 year old doing with a $1200 phone.. smh
What she doing wit such a expensive phone
Same way you all broke MS go $500 fete and complain things hard. Who are you folks to judge what a parent should give their child?
Exactly….not even a button phone lol but regardless that’s there business I don’t know why this Is new
she should have a phone, if Chantel had a phone and her location was turned on it would have been much easier to find her she was only 9 yrs old. she could have even make a quick call to say mommy help!! prob they would have let her go without killing her.
FAMILY LINK IS AN APP which can be used to control your child/ children’s devices for all you nay sayers out there
AND QUITE FRANKLY ALL THAT IS BESIDE THE POINT SHE GAVE HER COUSIN A CALL NOT EVEN A STRANGER WHERE ARE THE FAMILY MEMBERS TO DEAL WITH THIS SITUATION
TEACH R U PICKNEY N DEM FU SEE PEOPLE SUBBIN AND LEF UP CAISE DEM START LIKKLE DEM WILL END UP BIG AND 1735 FOREVER HAB SPACE
What the child has in her possession legally is for her parents/fuardians decision to make. Stop blaming the victim and deal with the fact that our culture is developing serious criminal minds at a very early age.
Aunty or uncle would have to buy my child phone back
Give the person back their phone.
That’s why obeah will never stop. They should make that thief walk on it head!
Don’t you worry! Karma will bite you in your rasss!
As a mother, this story really breaks my heart. A nine-year-old child should be able to trust her own family, yet here we are reading about a case where that trust was taken advantage of. It’s not just about a phone it’s about teaching our children lessons on responsibility, honesty, and the painful reality that not everyone, even those close to us, will always do right by them.
I can only imagine how confused and hurt that little girl must feel. For a child, losing something so personal, especially a phone filled with photos, games, or messages, can be devastating. It’s not just a gadget; it’s a piece of their small world.
This should also serve as a wake-up call for parents and guardians. We need to have more open conversations with our children about lending their belongings, setting boundaries, and what to do when situations like this arise. I hope the police handle this with sensitivity and that the phone is recovered, but more than anything, I hope the child regains her sense of trust and security.
It’s sad that something so small can reveal such a big issue in our society the erosion of accountability and respect within families.
These days people don’t like to work hard to buy what they want. Instead they thief. God is watching.
@niether red nor blue: look I am man enough to beg for pardon, I rescind my opinion on the availability of a phone to a child, the analogy of Chantel having a phone on that ominous day, it may have been different, and these sweet talkers like cutie Benjamin and the ALP political party claim they will set up Chantel alert, knowing fully well it won’t happen, if a white child had died in that same manner, white supervision would have instituted that alert system, I was in the Bahamas for the whole of September, and my phone in my pocket sound off at intervals with a high DTMF siren sound so loud you have to read the message on the screen, some are about storms missing person and other serious incidents, and am not hooked into Bahamas phone service but once you land in the territory your phone is commandeered. And on the highway the police have their own giant LCD screen displaying pictures of missing person instantly.
As said it takes two side of an argument to come to an amicable resolution.
