Nine Days With No New Covid-19 Cases

(Cabinet Notes)

The Cabinet asked the Minister of Health to give a report on the Covid-19 Coronavirus policy and its impact on the health infrastructure, to date. The Minister was pleased to report that no new cases of infection have been reported in the past nine days.

Although 16 samples have been sent off to CARPHA in Trinidad two  days ago, he was pleased to report that these were tests that have been conducted on people who tested negative before.

Two consecutive negative tests are required within a minimum seven-day period in order to declare a person free of the virus.

The results will be returned from Trinidad within the next two days and, hopefully, the results are likely to demonstrate that no-one in Antigua and Barbuda is infected by the Coronavirus.

Nevertheless, vigilance is required, not complacency, the Minister reported, prompting him to recall that the many protocols put in place to contain the spread are working. Nearly 20 persons are quarantined at the Hawksbill Hotel, and about 600 are self-quarantining at their homes.

  1. There are 620 persons in quarantine,Hawksbill has 20.Were those 600 at home exposed to Covid-19.If so,where were they exposed.I am getting mixed messages from those so called Cabinet Notes. Those 600 in self quarantine. How do you know. They are following the protocols. How do you know they are not walking around the villages. How would you know. Some did not take the buses into St.Johns.Remember a top Politician’s father was in self quarantined. He was out all over the place. That was according to the Politician.
