SOURCE SLEEP MAGAZINE: Envisioned by HKS Architects and Roam Interior Design, the property will also feature a beach club and private residences. The US $400m+ development will find home on Jolly Beach, on the island’s west coast, making it an immediate neighbour to the Jolly Harbour community.
82 hotel rooms and suites will be on offer, alongside 181 branded residences of up to four bedrooms. In addition to a beach club with its own boat drop-off point, five F&B outlets will be located on-site. Extensive health and wellness areas will also be on offer, including Tone Gym and Nikki Spa, which will feature cryo, hyperbaric, hydrothermal, red-light and IV therapy rooms, an aquatic centre, and a residence owner’s lounge with a private gym.
“We look forward to introducing the Nikki Beach experience to the stunning island of Antigua, marking our first resort and residences in the Caribbean and our second beach club after Saint Barth,” says Lucia Penrod, co-founder, CEO and owner of Nikki Beach Hospitality Group. “We look forward to expanding in the region and providing our guests with an exciting new destination where they can celebrate life with us, all while enjoying Antigua’s natural beauty, rich culture, and vibrant community.”
Calvin Ayre, Chairman of Ayre Group, adds: “This soon-to-be-developed 5-star hotel on the beachfront of Antigua is poised to become an unforgettable destination in the region, combining luxury, convenience and modern living. As guests enter the property, they will be immediately immersed in its idyllic atmosphere and breathtaking ocean views.”
A significant investment will be made in the resort’s development, with the expected provision of around 300 long-term jobs on the island, along with a similar number of shorter-term construction jobs. Local suppliers will expand to cater for the resort’s operational needs, as well as to independently service a higher volume of tourists throughout the region. The construction workforce will be sourced locally where possible, while the development team will be looking to utilise as much of the Antiguan supply chain as possible.
The Honourable Gaston Browne Prime Minister – Antigua and Barbuda also comments: “I welcome Nikki Beach Hospitality Group’s 5-star tourism development project to the shores of Antigua. Nikki Beach is a luxury brand that is celebrated for its cutting-edge architecture, contemporary dining and amenities. The construction of this hotel will accelerate the transformation of Antigua and Barbuda as a luxury destination here in the Caribbean. I am sure many inquisitive travellers will want to enjoy the Nikki Beach experience here in Antigua. Nikki Beach ranks so highly among travellers with exquisite taste, that the outcome of its presence here will be mutually beneficial to all stakeholders.

A realistic timeframe finally. This means it might be done properly, unlike Royalton and similar.
£10.00 pounds says this don’t happen.
How long did it take to build Palm Island Dubai?
Work started in 2001, and land and basic infrastructure were in place by 2004. Construction of the buildings began in 2006, and the first residents arrived in 2007. Apartments, retail facilities, and a few hotels are situated on the trunk.
This is only a 80 room facility. Why should design and construction take 4 years? Something is not right.
Mr.Really – you are so correct. Those owners and construction management or developers are reckless. They don’t care about quality. They are nasty and after opening they spend millions in corrective work. The sewage trucks goes to the first one almost everyday. The second one , especially the areas done by the Hispanic / Mexicans were done to no standards. I cannot see how this hotel chain will survive for 10 years.
They also maintain cheap. Don’t like to pay for quality work. The kitchen at the first one is nasty. Again they hired a Hispanic company that has no standards. The ministry of health needs to visit those properties.
So the sewage trucks go there everyday day to unblock. They have been emptying sewage water in our lagoon. Where is the ministry of health and environment to police these hotels.
Do we have building codes – is it that DCA don’t visit these properties during construction.
Well the one at halcyon beach was allowed to push down Kelsick with government support. They blocked off the northern portion of the beach, by building houses on the water.
They try as hard as possible not to use Antiguan contractors. They don’t hire people from Guyana or Jamaica unless they have their documents. However they have scores of Hispanics working illegally both directly and for Hispanic contractors.
Look in the Dominican Republic they are rounding up our black brothers and sisters by the thousands. We need to do the same. Seems like is only black politicians alone don’t care about black people.
Recently I saw a video circulating with the molds. Ministry of health please check out the kitchens.
On the other hand Calvin Ayre is a man of class. He respect the people of Antigua. He respect the environment. He is not here for the quick buck and run. He does more for the unfortunate than anyone else in Antigua and Barbuda. He don’t get involved in politics. As a businessman he is aware that government comes and government goes. So he shows respect to both government and opposition. This Guy invest millions in Education and health of Antiguans. Here wishing him and this project all the best.
@frankly speaking
Why such racist language? Do you really believe that Hispanic people are inferior, like your comment would suggest?
Have you been to Dominican Republic? The people of Dominican Republic look pretty much the same as Haitian people and for that matter Antiguan people, except for the non Antiguans eat better and have pride in themselves.
So they are not the obese people who sit on their fat ass and complain
@Frankly Speaking. You should change your name from “Frankly Speaking” to “Babbling Incoherently”. Your grammar is terrible.
Your anti-Hispanic comments are pathetic, desperate and a sign of your own weakness and insecurities.
Notwithstanding the poor grammar, you got my point. The government of the Dominican Republic is sending home Haitians by the tens of thousands. We should do them likewise. The two hotels they managed and control -Kitchens and pools are filthy. If they were operating like that in the USA the health officials would closed them down long time.
Any of you seen the video with the American guest and the mold in the room ? The poor quality and unhealthy conditions can destroy our tourism over night and that is a fact.
They hire mostly Hispanics and as I said and filthy conditions are the results. Someone went into the main kitchen and this is what the person said “ My God , is a good thing I don’t go out to eat, that kitchen is filthy”.
Another business man said don’t know where they are getting money from. However the speed they are building and the poor management both during construction and after he cannot see that company lasting 10 more years.
Yeah! More work as gardeners and maids, our hand continue to create wealth for the white man like when we cut cane and pick cotton and the wealth shipped abroad and leave us in perpetual poverty. Isn’t our politicians wise? Or they must be merchant politicians.
