The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda, as part of its tour of significant construction works across the country, visited the YIDA project site on Wednesday.

In Cabinet notes made available to the media, it was reported that eight houses and a club house are in various stages of construction at YIDA’s Crabbes location.

Two houses are completed and a construction crew is working on finishing several of the other houses.

“The Cabinet examined one of the homes which house staff that are currently working on the site; others are to join the building team as the project expands,” the notes read.

To aid its construction work, The YIDA project has built its own cement batch plant.

“Heavy-duty equipment and other earth-moving equipment have been engaged in the building exercise,” according to Cabinet notes.

Meantime, it was noted that YIDA has had difficulty moving foreign exchange out of China and has appealed to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda to assist.

The Government has obliged the request though details of how were not shared with the public.
