Thieves steal cash, jewelry, credit card, and cigar on yacht

A thief or thieves took everything they could carry or swim with from a yacht anchored in the St. John’s Harbour, owner has reported.

Joan Pinder told the Facebook Antigua cruisers that their boat was broken into sometime between 1:30 and 4:30 pm on Thursday, December 20 while anchored in St John’s harbour.

She reported that the lock was bashed with a winch handle and the boat ransacked.

“Euros, Iphone, iPod, a gold necklace, a credit card, and a Cuban cigar stolen,” were the items she said were stolen.

“Perhaps the thief swam out because a lot wasn’t taken,” Joan added.

She said she called the Police 4 times and once more on Friday “before a report was (maybe?)filed!”

“A report has been made to the Caribbean safety and security network.,” she added.

Joan said she decided to anchor at St. John’s as opposed to the more popular yachting locations as they intended to “visit the market, the museum, Digicel and just check out the town then move to Deep Bay for the night.”

“Wish we had taken a bus,” she lamented.

People with information about this incident should contact the nearest police station.

  1. REPRINTED comment. THIRD REPOST SINCE MR RODNEY SAID CRIME REPORTS ARE DOWN…

‘Criminals listen and read the news also seems as though they did not appreciate Mr Rodney’s report card that they are underperforming”

Barbuda IS NOT a regular mention for serious crimes. WITH THE NEW DEVELOPMENT PLANS AND VISION adding to the bread basket, influx of thousands of workers, I HOPE THE PEACEFULNESS THAT IS NOW ENJOYED IN BARBUDA DO NOT CHANGE…..

I REMEMBER WHEN THERE WAS NO NEED FOR police officers to carry guns.
I remember when each village knew who all the criminals were.
I remember when prisinors would go on errands in St John’s unaccompanied.
I remember I remember I remember THE PRICE OF DEVELOPMENT THAT EXCLUDES THE DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE, WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS TYPE OF DEVELOOMENT?
