A thief or thieves took everything they could carry or swim with from a yacht anchored in the St. John’s Harbour,
Joan Pinder told the Facebook Antigua cruisers that their boat was broken into sometime between 1:30 and 4:30 pm on Thursday, December 20 while anchored in St John’s
She reported that the lock was bashed with a winch handle and the boat ransacked.
“Perhaps the thief swam out because a lot wasn’t taken,” Joan added.
She said she called the Police 4 times and once more on Friday “before a report was (maybe?)filed!”
“A report has been made to the Caribbean safety and security network.,” she added.
Joan said she decided to anchor at St. John’s as opposed to the more popular yachting locations as they intended to “visit the market, the museum, Digicel and just check out the town then move to Deep Bay for the night.”
“Wish we had taken a bus,” she lamented.
