President complains about unbearable heat in parliament

President of the Senate Alincia Williams-Grant has told the leader of government business in the Senate to do something about the uncomfortable temperatures in the parliament chamber.

Williams-Grant says she had already raised the concern privately but saw the need to do so publicly since nothing was done about it.

“…too long we have been labouring under a situation that is proving to be very uncomfortable particularly for the presiding officers,” she said at the start of Monday’s Senate sitting.

She suggested that her concerns may have been given the back seat because of the recent general election.

“But the heat is unbearable in the chambers of the presiding officers, we have done all that we can in terms of the legitimate channels

“And I am appealing because right now I am perspiring because I have been sitting in the room for over an hour with a fan blowing,” she said.

  1. My dear, that’s the way this government behave, they just drag their feet with everything especially helping their own people, they’re just chatters ,chat chat

  2. Maybe that’s why Senator Hurst gave such a incoherent and nonsensical explanation of the new CBI advisory group.
