Residents are taking note of the filth throughout and around St John’s City.
“Time enough people take pride and clean up after themselves when they use public beaches,” said one frustrated resident.
“People come and leave their [expletive] all over the damn place!” exclaimed another.
The photo taken above was of historic Fort James beach early this morning towards the eastern end of the beach area near a proposed housing development complex.
The garbage was described as, “probably wash and refuge from the bay, but still dirty.”
Motorists were equally appalled this morning as early morning rush hour traffic met a 30-gallon bag of garbage opened and spilling its filthy contents on lower market street next to the public market.
“The country done dutty already,” said one motorist.
“People just nasty. Just how much more can the city take?”

Well so much for that I am cancelling my trip to your island. Organize yourselves and get the authority to act. Meanwhile I am going to spend my money and vacations in Anguilla where islanders are far more organized and respect their environment.

Awful – no pride in how the city looks. Redcliffe Key is so lovely then you go out on the streets and see this plus music at 10,000 decibels.

The authorities are weak, spineless. The law exist to do something to the law breakers and they can improve on it by stiffer fines and taking away the vehicles that do the dumping.
Nobody wants to bell the cats. Trucks and pick ups carrying stuff it is covered as per the law but NO tailgate so everything is falling out as they move. Even trucks carrying sand and stones. Ridiculous. SMH
