The public is being advised to take the Takata airbag safety recall initiative for Honda & Acura vehicles seriously.
Owners of 2001 –2016 Honda & Acura vehicles are urged take full advantage of the free airbag repair event being hosted by the local authorized Honda distributor/dealer, Antigua Motors on Old Parham Road.
“If your vehicle is affected by this recall, we encourage you to take immediate action to have it repaired,” the Consumer Affairs Division said in a statement.
There is no cost to consumers for the repairs and factory trained technicians from American Honda will be on site. The repair time is approximately 45 minutes.
The Division is urging consumers not to be complacent and ignore the recall notice, “for you and your passenger’s safety may be at risk. Sharp metal fragments from airbag explosions have seriously injured and killed vehicle occupants,” and consumers here in Antigua and Barbuda need to be mindful of this.
The free airbag repair event takes place 6 – 8 December; 8:00am – 5:00pm at Antigua Motors on Old Parham Road.
