The two police officers who were charged yesterday for allegedly raping of a woman fifteen months ago were remanded to prison.

The accused officers made their first appearance in the Magistrate’s Court this morning.

The two police Constables were accused of raping a 19-year-old female in May of 2017 in the Five Islands area.

The complainant told police that she was held at gunpoint by the officers and forced to perform sexual acts.

She also alleged the officers, who are known to her, struck her in the face and threatened to kill her if she reported the matter to the police or anyone else.

At the time of the incident, the victim reported she stopped fighting back after the officers brandished a gun and threatened her life.

The accused officers are due back in court in November of this year for committal proceedings.
