Mentally ill man deemed fit to answer murder charge

A man diagnosed with schizophrenia was deemed fit to stand trial for murder in the High Court today.

Lenmore Horsford is a patient at the Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital, where he has been since 2010 when jurors ruled he was unfit to answer to the murder charge.

However, Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Griffin Benjamin, who testified in High Court via Skype on Monday, said Horsford’s condition has improved and he is now stable enough to understand the court proceedings.

The man’s mother told the court, her 32-year-old son can live with her if he is discharged from the hospital on bail ahead of the trial.

  1. This must be a joke he is diagnosed with schizophrenia but is fit to stand trial? Who is that doctor?

At the time of the incident was he fit?

The doctor should be his own patient…
