The man who shot and paralyzed an elderly woman during the 2013 last lap carnival celebrations was sentenced to 33 years in prison this morning.
Shelton Hunte was found guilty of wounding Judith Wynter with intent to murder.
The court heard that Hunte had been in a shootout with rival gang member Trevorn Francis when a stray bullet struck Wynter, an innocent bystander.
Francis was also found guilty of wounding Wynter with intent to murder and was sentenced to 24 years imprisonment for his role in the incident.
The maximum sentence for the offence is 35 years imprisonment.

you don’t need an expert it’s common sense u take up a gun and start shooting inot a crowded area YOUR INTENTION IS TO MURDER, KILL, TAKE LIVES. POINT BLANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and FYI there was a very likely chance of her dying from her injuries hence the WOUNDING WITH INTENT TO COMMIT MURDER charge
