John Paul DeJoria, global entrepreneur and philanthropist accepted the position of Ambassador At Large for the Islands of Antigua and Barbuda as presented by Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.

This appointment comes from a long-standing relationship John Paul has with the island and its community through development and conservation efforts he’s initiated to benefit and enhance the islands.

John Paul, a serial entrepreneur, is often recognized for his business enterprises; however at the core of every personal and professional decision that he makes, his life motto “Success Unshared is Failure” is the driving force guiding his philanthropic activities, and his investment in the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

“It is an honor to be recognized by a region that I care so deeply about,” said DeJoria.  “The people here are resilient, but in need and I’m very fortunate to be in a position to assist helping to rebuild of this community, and be a voice for them abroad.”

“In the position of Ambassador,” stated Prime Minister Gaston Browne, “John Paul will work to promote the best interests of these unique and beautiful islands, coordinating with the World, and Embassies, Consulates and Missions of Antigua and Barbuda in the USA, and advising my office on opportunities that will benefit the region.”

Especially moved by the plight of the people of this region following the Hurricane Irma devastation, John Paul worked in conjunction with the Sea Shepherd organization to direct his namesake vessel to Antigua and Barbuda to assist in moving evacuees and aid between the two islands.  The vessel was also instrumental in assisting with the relief efforts in neighboring Dominica and Tortola.

John Paul DeJoria is a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, business leader and mentor with a true rags-to-riches story. Once homeless, he overcame adversity, and went on to build two billion dollar brands—leading professional hair care manufacturer, John Paul Mitchell Systems and Patrón Spirits—and several global enterprises. He started his first company, John Paul Mitchell Systems with partner, Paul Mitchell and a borrowed $700.

He remains true to his motto, “Success unshared is failure,” and dedicates himself to numerous charitable causes through his philanthropy hub, JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation, and has committed to donate more than half of his wealth to philanthropy through his signing of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet’s, “The Giving Pledge.”

  2. WELL AT LEAST HE ISN’T IMPLICATED IN ANY BRIBERY SCANDALS YET. HE MAY BE A GOOD LESS GREEDY MORE HONEST ENVOY WHO WILL APPRECIATE BARBUDA PEOPLE AND WORK WITH THEM TO PRESERVE THEIR CULTURE AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENTAL BEAUTY. HE HAS ENOUGH MONEY.I HOPE HE REALIZES THAT.
