Gov’t Agrees To Stay Quiet Before Meeting With Cruise Line Next Week

Prime Minister Gaston Browne is to meet with executives of Carnival Cruise Lines one week after the company aannunced it was pulling out of Antigua.

The meeting was planned after Browne, during the Cabinet meeting with his colleague ministers present, spoke by telephone with the Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Cruiseline.

The C.E.O. and Senior Executives of Carnival Cruise Lines are expected to be present.

The meeting will be held either in Antigua or Miami.

The government says until such time, the Cruise Line and the Government agreed to refrain from issuing press statements or making pronouncements on the subject of Carnival Cruise Lines announcement of withdrawing vessels from the destination.

  1. Well, well. Cabinet must have had to tie up the PM, gag his mouth and put him in a corner when they agreed to keep quiet until the meeting. Gaston Browne and “quiet” is like oil and water. They do not mix or go together! The PM quiet? When pigs fly and fowl grow teeth!!

  3. When will the people of Antigua realize this government is a complete disgrace?! A PM who looks like a porn star and is more interested on publicity than actual governance, who cabt put the coubtries needs first ovwr his stupidity, ministers (like the past tourism one) that disgrace the country and themselves with disgusting behaviour. It ridiculous and a laughable to think these idiots can run the country. Small minded people elexted a small minded government and the world is laughing at us all!
