  1. I guess this will be another reason for the police to tell us that they have no vehicle to respond to emergencies when they are called…

    Hope everyone is ok from the crash!

    Let’s drive safely

    Enough said a word to the unwise is sufficient….

  3. I pray everyone are ok and the injuries are not life threatening.
    I am wondering if the police vehicle was pursuing a criminal in a getaway car or they were summoned to 911 emergency call.

  4. RIGHT ON THE BALL: RASTA

    Do not have or know the facts on this one.

    But do know from ‘…accident investigations’ and from the law itself, it speaks to:

    (i) …Dangerous Driving;

    (ii) …Reckless Driving;

    (iii) …Careless Driving; and

    (iv) …Exceeding the speed limit.’

    [Sections 53-57: Vehicles and Road Traffic Act: Chapter 460].
    These are what the investigator shall say to the two drivers, police and civilian.

    One or both of them may very well likely to face ‘…Traffic Court Magistrate Dexter Wason.’

    Might be puzzling.

    If evidence shows that both drivers contributed to the accident ‘…by the manner of driving,’ both can be prosecuted for one of these offences.

    Readers may wish to have a second read of the referred commentary by ‘Rastaman.’

    Law enforcement personnel shall know when it is an emergency- Life in danger; …Fire; or …crime in progress; …emergency landing at V.C, Bird International Airport; …hazards on roadway to be immediately cleared; …rioting in St. John’s where manpower is urgently needed.

    However, if a person is ‘…already dead,’ speeding to the scene would never save life; ‘…done dead ah ready.’

    If personnel are ‘…Late for Duty,’ …done late ah ready.’

    When it is Government Revenues, if the Banks are closed, they shall proceed safely and easily dropped it into the Safe deposit boxes and go about their lawful duties peacefully and safely.

    If attacked on the roadway, they shall know what to do to repel such attack.

    Every motorist has a ‘…duty of care when driving.’ None is exempted.
