Flow Antigua and Barbuda is once again the Diamond sponsor of Antigua’s Carnival, the Caribbean’s greatest summer festival.
The Company demonstrated this in a tangible way as Flow handed over its sponsorship cheque to the Minister responsible for Carnival, The Hon. Daryl Matthew, at a brief presentation ceremony at its Clare Hall Headquarters.
The over 30-year partnership with the Antigua and Barbuda Festival Commission formerly the Carnival Development Committee is accompanied by a significant investment in cash and kind to facilitate Carnival activities each year.
Flow’s Country Manager, Joe Mathieson, keenly endorsed the sponsorship in his remarks. “At Flow, we are committed to investing in education, sports and culture. We, therefore, take pride in making our contributions to the local communities where we operate and serve. In doing so we are able to help in uplifting our people, developing local talents and ensuring the viability of Antigua’s Carnival as a whole.”
This year, Flow is once again the title sponsor of the biggest show for the carnival season, the Flow Party Monarch Competition. The show will attract as many as 10,000 spectators to see Antigua’s premier Soca artistes display their talents. Flow also supports the Junior Carnival as title sponsor. This event promotes involvement from an early age by allowing the children to display and showcase junior mas.
In addition to its overwhelming support of Antigua’s Carnival, Flow also partners with a number of Bands and groups that further enhances the Antigua Carnival experience.
These include MYST Carnival, Antigua’s premier mas band, and who are reigning back to back Band of the Year champions, Flow Hellsgate Steel Orchestra, the oldest Steel band in the world, and reigning Panorama Champions, and Tian Winter Flow brand ambassador and reigning Groovy Monarch.
The Hon Daryl Matthew, the minister responsible for carnival, commended Flow for being the consummate corporate citizen. He described it as “One that is a shining example of social responsibility over the years”. He thanked Flow for setting an example by constantly rising to the occasion in its support of what is important to Antigua and Barbuda. “We are grateful for your support in helping us build and enhance this expression of our unique emancipation celebration which is the foundation of our Carnival the region’s greatest summer festival” said Minister Matthew.
