Bush fires nearly doubled in 2018 as compared to the same period in 2017, statistics released by the police show.
There were 84 bush fires reported in 2017 and 159 in 2018 and increase of 75.
All other categories of fires also saw increases last year.
House fires went from 45 in 2017 to 60 in 2018.
There were six more vehicle fires reported to the authorities in 2018 as the figure moved from 34 to 40.
Other fires accounted for 288 in 2018 as compared to 282 in 2017.
Overall, firefighters responded to 102 more calls in 2018 over 2017.
