The Transport Board has introduced four new school buses to their aging fleet to address the difficulty of finding parts for the old models.

The Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Transportation, Edson Joseph, said there are already plans underway to acquire an additional six buses.

He said they will not all be bought at the same time, as was the case with the old fleet but staggered, to avoid all of them “aging at the same time.

Hundreds of students rely on the public school bus system to take them to and from school every day at a reduced cost, compared to that of accessing public transportation.

The vehicles were unveiled during an opening ceremony at the Transport Board on Friday.

  1. I hope them warn the driver for these new bus to take care of them if they hit them and they are found worng they should pay from them. Out of they salarie because these guy drive these school bus crazy and alway in speed with these kids inside of them full bus

    • True story. I had to call to the motor pool to report a driver who ran me off the road because he was driving like a madman and made a bad judgement to overtake with another vehicle coming head on. He was transporting the Nation’s youth at the time too.

  2. Strange that parts are not available. Toyota and Nissan buses should be easy to get parts from the dealers or after market parts dealers. Sound like Liarnel chatting crap.

  3. I hope one of these buses will be taking the route to All Saints Secondary… Since the bus always passing my daughter on the road full 3 out of 5 days and she has to hustle out of class @ 1:29 to hopefully get a seat for the trip home.
