Disability movement blocks access to parking at Woods in protest

6

Members of the Antigua Barbuda Association of Persons with Disabilities have blocked access to a section of the Woods Mall.

They have parked their wheelchairs and walkers in spaces for regular customer parking.

The protest is in response to those who park in areas designated for disability parking.

About a dozen members of the movement are currently involved in the protest.

This is the second phase of the protest which has also seen members of the association recording violators in a name and shame effort on social media.

  1. This guy warner is really a nuisance to the tham society what are u proving big boss, stop using the people them for your own plight

  2. Drivers should respect the disability parking spaces. $500 fine in the USA. What makes us think it’s ok to ignore the rules and park in the blue area without the required permit. Lawlessness must be stamped out in all areas.

  3. Somebody should run aryou u blocking up even regular parking not only over woods disable parking be y mek u no go town go do tht mek them f u up nasty face

  4. This is my issue with Warner, his inability to know when to stop, point made. If others were to follow this example , it would simply make a bad situation worse. You have done the right think by highlighting the issue by publicly posting the images. Your basically doing wrong, will only result in pissing persons off, especially those who support your cause

  5. Well done!! I see ppl park in Dem blue spots all the time, well abled and smh.A point has to be made. A fine use to apply. Where has it gone?? Block some more legit spots I say. We can afford to park further from our destination and WALK!
