2017 Calypso Monarch King Zacari

The Wadadli Beer Calypso Monarch Competition semifinals is tonight and calypso committee chairman Dion Simmons says that the artists will, “either sink or swim.”

“If they don’t move on to the next round, they will have no one to blame but themselves. What you put in is what you get out. Those who put in the hard work and the time will see good results.”

The competition begins promptly at 7 pm this evening and Simmons said that everything is in place for the artists to wow the judges and the crowd at the Barrymore Hotel (Tent City).

“Rehearsals have been going well. The artists had their final run on Thursday afternoon and everything is in order from the committee’s end of things.”
