Acting Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney has confirmed an incident in which a businessman on gun charges was questioned while he tried to leave the state over the weekend.
Rodney said the police officer did not know that Rey John (not to be confused with Ray John) was given permission to travel.
John’s original bail conditions on gun charges restricted travel but he obtained special permission from a local magistrate before his trip.
Not knowing this, the police officer reportedly pulled John aside after he has checked in.
According to local media reports, the businessman boarded the flight when he was approached by the officer.
When John provided adequate proof that he had permission to travel, he was allowed to go.
He is on $35,000 bail for an incident which occurred at Club Viper which resulted in one man being shot in the head on July 27, 2018.
The victim was not seriously wounded.

BLISS OF IGNORANCE
When thoughts are corrupt, the mind becomes warped and
the mouth spews corruption.
This has often resulted from ‘…ignorance.’
What happened there has absolutely nothing to do with
‘…corruption.’
If people understand the ‘…the fundamental right, freedoms
and liberties’ enshrined in the Constitution, they may have
better understanding.
Liberty speaks for itself where one is not locked up in jail and
enjoys the ‘…freedom of movement.’
These can only be lawfully deprived by a Court when a person is
arrested and charged with a criminal offence and likely to pose a
‘…flight risk’ from the Cout’s jurisdiction.
In that case, the Court would ‘…order him to surrender his travel document.’
An application may be made if the necessity arises for travel.
If the Court is satisfied that the applicant poses no flight risk, it may allow the
person to travel by returning his travel document.
The Court specifies a time when he should return to its jurisdiction.
If the applicant failed to do so, without satisfactory explanation,
he may be deemed to have absconded and may forfeit the money
deposited for his bail.
Not only that, the Surety (person that signed as guarantor) could
also, forfeit the sum ordered by the Court.
Not sure where ‘…corruption’ comes in.
However, time might be wisely utilized to learn what obtains in these situations.
Never know what may happen.
